Diwali Special: Shahrukh, Katrina on KBC 6

Television has become a strong tool to promote movies and ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ hosted by megastarAmitabh Bachchan has been a favorable platform to promote any new releases. The latest to join the bandwagon of promoting their film isShahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The two cute couple joined Big B on the quiz show KBC to promote their latest flick, ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’.

It was a huge privilege to see the two stars of Bollywood sharing the same platform. It may be noted that Shahrukh Khan hosted KBC once. Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan had a great time together on the set.

Shahrukh and Katrina will seat on the hot seat and answered some KBC questions as a part of the promotion of their next film, Yash Chopra directed movie, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. The last time when Shahrukh and Big B met on the set of KBC, the TRPs shoot high and this time also something similar is expected.

In the special Diwali episode, Shahrukh and Katrina will also shake a leg with Big B. Excited about the show, SRK tweeted: “Too much fun on kbc...thanx ... (sic),” thanking Big B.

‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ is slated for Diwali release. Directed by Yash Chopra, the film also stars Anushka Sharma in the pivotal role. For the first time music composer AR Rahman has composed music for Yash Raj banner and the lyrics of the movie is penned by Gulzar.

Shahrukh plays an army office and Katrina his ladylove while Anushka will be seen in the role of a documentary filmmaker.

‘Student Of The Year’ shows a terrific and great start

Karan Johar’s mania grips the nation yet again. His latest release ‘Student Of The Year’ charms the youngsters. Houseful banner is seen outside most of the theatres. Inspite being a working day, the film opened up well in many theatres of Indian and abroad. The respond indicates that it is going to be another blockbuster of 2012.

Despite casting all newcomers, the movie spelled magic and it yet again proved that any movie works if the performance and script is power-packed. Set in a college campus, SOTY stars Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in leads. The film is released in October on looking at the festive season and vacation of the students. The good news is that there has been a huge rush for advance bookings. Audience showing great interest for the first day, first show of the movie.

On looking at the response, trade analysts feels that the movie might set a new record.  

On his Twitter page, well-known Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh writes, "#SOTY morning shows are terrific... Great start." He adds, "SOTY embarks on a terrific start in Overseas too. Purely on the strength of KJo and Dharma, collects AED 350,000 in UAE on Thu. Super!"

Another noted trade expert Komal Nahta feels that Student of the Year will become a blockbuster. On his Twitter page, the trade analyst writes, "This frm Bihar exhibtor Vishek:Patna Ranchi Jamshdpur 100pc opening for SOTY.terrific reports.family audience will catch on.BLOCKBUSTER (sic)."

SOTY is a story of college going guys Abhimanyu Singh (Sidharth Malhotra) and Rohan Nanda (Varun Dhawan) who traverse the path of competition, envy, triumph, failure, manipulation and heartbreak in their mini-universe of St. Teresa's High School, Dehradun.

Hope, in the coming days, the collection of the film touches a great height.

This bubbly star, also known for her collaboration with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and as the Goodwill Ambassador for the "Angel for Animals" that encouraged people to adopt homeless dogs and make them a part of the family, was struck by the news of her beloved father’s demise last evening (18^th October) due to a severe cardiac arrest at a private Hotel in Hyderabad.

Trisha’s father Mr. Krishnan (68) worked as the hotel manager of a star hotel in Hyderabad.  He complained of severe chest pain and breathing problem yesterday in the evening at the workplace and was rushed to Yashoda Hospital soon after, where the doctors there declared that he succumbed to death on the way.

Trisha and her mother, Mrs. Uma Krishnan soon left for Hyderabad from Chennai at once as soon as they received the news.

Trisha’s mother was offered to act in several films by various film directors and actors including Kamal Hasan but she turned them down because she wanted to focus on Trisha’s career. Trisha’s mother accompanies her in whatever she does, be it events, shoot or award shows. The mother and daughter duo have appeared together in just one commercial advertisement till date. She stood by Trisha as her pillar of strength throughout all the thick and thin of her life…

The news shook the daughter and her mother as they are yet to decide about the place where the last rites will be performed. Will it be Chennai or Hyderabad is the question that rises up at this point of time.

Karisma’s marriage with Sanjay was on the verge of separation but the actress wants to give a second chance to her wedding. Sanjay never made any attempt to save his marriage and sort out the differences between them.

Karisma has two children from Sanjay, a girl named Samaira and a boy Kiaan.
